Male Chef Who Survived Breast Cancer Hosts 'All Boobs Matter' Fundraiser to Support Long Island Residents |
East Islip's Jackson Hall to Host Annual Event Raising Awareness and Funds for Breast Cancer |
In a remarkable journey from patient to advocate, Michael Landesberg, a male breast cancer survivor and executive chef at Jackson Hall American Bar & Grille in East Islip, is channeling his experience into a powerful community initiative. On Monday, October 6, 2025, from 4 to 9 PM, Jackson Hall will host the annual 'All Boobs Matter' fundraiser, aiming to support fellow Long Island residents battling breast cancer. Diagnosed in April 2020 with HER2-positive breast cancer, a rare and aggressive form of the disease, Landesberg faced a daunting prognosis. Doctors informed him that without immediate treatment, his survival chances were slim. Opting for a mastectomy and enduring a grueling year of chemotherapy, he emerged cancer-free and with a renewed purpose. Reflecting on his journey, Landesberg shared, 'It makes you realize what’s really important. It makes you realize that no one is invincible, and our time here is limited.' The 'All Boobs Matter' fundraiser, now in its third year, has become a beacon of hope and solidarity in the East Islip community. The event features two dinner seatings at 4 PM and 6 PM, with reservations available by calling (631) 277-7100. Attendees can look forward to a variety of activities, including a 50/50 raffle, gift baskets, a Chinese auction, drink specials, and an array of prizes generously donated by local businesses. Notably, the fundraiser boasts over 500 donated prizes, ranging from gift cards from more than 100 local restaurants to high-value items like a Weber grill, jewelry, sports memorabilia, and even an all-expense-paid vacation to Siesta Key, Florida. The overwhelming support from the community has been heartening. Landesberg recounted, 'Even people I don’t know are contributing generously. Just today, I had two strangers come in and give me $500 worth of gift cards.' This outpouring of generosity underscores the community's commitment to the cause and the impact of Landesberg's advocacy. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Male Breast Cancer Global Alliance and the West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition, organizations dedicated to supporting those affected by breast cancer and advancing research. In previous years, the fundraiser has successfully raised over $26,000, with hopes to surpass that amount this year. Landesberg's journey has also led him to serve on the board of the Male Breast Cancer Global Alliance, where he continues to advocate for awareness and support for male breast cancer patients. His story is a testament to resilience and the power of community support. ([mbcglobalalliance.org](https://mbcglobalalliance.org/meet-mbcga-board-member-michael-landesberg/?utm_source=openai))

As the community comes together for this significant cause, the 'All Boobs Matter' fundraiser stands as a powerful reminder of the impact one individual can have in the fight against breast cancer.
